Maria Menounos

When she took care of her mother who suffers from Stage 4 brain cancer Maria realized she was facing a health crisis that was her own. In February 2014 Menounos started experiencing troubling symptoms. "I'd experienced lightheadedness on set and having headaches," she tells PEOPLE in the magazine's exclusive new feature. "My speech became blurred. Also, I had difficulty reading the prompter on the teleprompter." Menounos discovered she had a meningioma-size brain tumor. An MRI confirmed the diagnosis. Menounos agreed to an appointment for surgery with doctor. Keith L. Black her mother's neurosurgeon and scheduled surgery for the 8th of June. Menounos is now 39 years old. The doctor said the surgery was 98 percent benign. We won't have the ability to determine until the time they reach. Dr. Black managed to eliminate 99.9% of benign tumors through a procedure that took 7 hours. "He stated that there's a six to seven percent likelihood that we'll have it return," she says. The odds of this are my top bet. Menounos has been home since her hospital stay for six days. The patient is recovering and enjoying the company of Litsa and her mom. Litsa's most recent MRI confirms that she is still free of cancer. Maria Maria Maria
